Questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers about wells, pumps and water quality.

How do I know if my well pump is failing?

Common signs are low or surging water pressure, air spitting from taps, a pump that runs constantly, or no water at all. If you notice any of these, call Bill before a small problem becomes a full replacement.

How long does a well pump last?

Most well pumps last 10 to 15 years, depending on water quality, how often the pump cycles, and whether the pressure tank is working properly. A failing tank shortens pump life.

Why does my pump turn on and off every few seconds?

That's called short-cycling, and it usually means the pressure tank has lost its air charge or is waterlogged. It wears out the pump quickly, so it's worth getting checked soon.

Do I need a water softener?

If you see white scale on faucets, spotty dishes, or dry skin after showering, you likely have hard water. We test your water first and only recommend a softener if it will make a real difference.

Do you offer emergency service?

Yes. We're available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays. Call (203) 671-1506.
